This shouldn't be a problem with this printer, however my other printer (laserjet 2100) only can print 600dpi using the universal driver but can print 1200dpi using the driver available on my old computer (which had windows installed on it sometime before 2018). If I want to install these printers on a windows 10 computer, is there a way extract the proper drivers from an older computer or get a copy of them to use in installation? It seems that sometime in the last couple years the available printer drivers list in windows 10 was reduced significantly. Three supply pages printed in a row: Black will only be successfully printed on the bottom of the page, with the top of where the black begins changing.īefore I open the new yellow toner, is this an indication that some other component is failing or needs maintenance? The fuser and paper feed all seem fine, but this is my first color printer. Two demo pages, printed consecutively: The second page has a horizontal band with little or no black toner. Now with the black and magenta cartridges replaced, it is printing portions of the page faded, and it looks the same now as when it started to fail after the first couple of weeks owning it. Suspecting the remanufactured toner cartridges, I got some new-old-stock replacements. It worked great for a few weeks, until it started printing faded images and text until finally nothing but the cyan portion would show up on the page. I purchased a used HP color laserjet 2605 this summer.
